The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

     
     I loved The Hate U Give a lot. It only took me about a week to finish because it was so fascinating. I have a theory about why Starr was wearing the hoodie the night Khalil was shot. An African American man was shot by a police officer wearing a black hoodie as well. His name was Trayvon Martin. He is very well known due to the protests of his death. People argue that Trayvon was killed because he looked ‘suspicious’. In the book kids at Starr’s school responded to his death by saying that he looked suspicious and so that is why he died.

      My favorite character is Starr because I loved watching her develop and finally stand up to the shooter and everyone else who thought it was okay for Khalil to die. Starr’s friend Hailey argued with Starr about the shooting and said that he should have died. Starr ignored the comment at first but then she stood up to her and that was my favorite part of the book. This was a very deep book and it was so much fun to read.

    I have been wanting to read this book. I liked how you told us who your favorite character was, it made the book more appealing.

    I've heard amazing things about this book, and have been wanting to read it for a long time. I liked how you really went into depth about the book and why you liked it.

F.B.I. Raids Office of Trump’s Longtime Lawyer Michael Cohen; Trump Calls It ‘Disgraceful’   by Matt Apuzzo. This article written  about Michael Cohen, who works for Donald Trump. He was raided Monday Morning. The F.B.I. had a warrant going to his house and office taking emails, documents, records and many other documents concerning Donald Trump. The author's opinion doesn't seem very opinionated , just factual. I would guess that the author is not in favor of Donald Trump since the writer works for the New York Times, but it's very hard to tell.  The raid definitely  means that there will be something to find connecting the affair of Trump and Stormy Daniels. What confuses me is why Trump calls it 'breaking in' if they had the right to raid because of a warrant. I think that Trump is trying to make it sound like the FBI are the ones who are in trouble. Summer Trip

     One day my parents get a call from my aunt. She tells us she scored six tickets to a Justin Bieber concert in Dallas. It was on my sister’s birthday. My sister and I are freaking out because rappers called Migos were opening up for him. Everyday before the concert it was just crazy to think that i was going to get to see two really, really, really well known artists. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that was very exciting.       A couple of days before we were going to the concert, I get a call from my cousin (the one who was taking us to the concert). I find out that Justin Bieber cancelled the concert. My reaction to that was being very sad and disappointed. I mean, I had learned almost all of Migos and JB’s songs. We were all mad.
