Lord of the Flies

"The madness came into his eyes again. "I thought I might kill". This helps support that Jack had an effect on the story. Jack never said he would kill a pig, just in general that he would kill. The madness in his eyes is making him become more and more violent. Jack torturing every one is fueling more and more of his violence. When he breaks off of the group and no one joins him at first, the anger makes hime more blood thirsty. Jack's temper makes him more and more angry, leading others to become violent and actually kill a kid.

Thanksgiving is definitely not my favorite holiday. I know that sounds bad, but let me explain. All of my mom's family comes to Baton Rouge and they all stay at my house. All of my cousins are near my age and they are nice, but they must have an obsession with messing up my room, because every time I walk in there, everything is moved around and then I have to go rearrange it. So many people in one house is very stressful enough. I really love the food because my mom lets me help her cook the small foods. It's the most fun part because my mom's mom and her sister and my cousins all like to help in the kitchen. What is annoying is that one of my aunts is obsessed with taking pictures so she makes us all stop what we are doing and smile like we love taking pictures... If I could change anything about Thanksgiving, I would do it with just my family and my friends' families and we would all stay at the beach.

Symbolism Post

In a little town called Fane, a girl named Katherine has the perfect life. She has great grades, many friends, and she loves the town she lives in. She likes to follow the rules and does everything her parents tell her to. Katherine's best friend, Taylor, is very different from Kathrine. She is very adventurous, takes risks, and doesn't follow the rules. Most of all Taylor cannot stand Fane. She thinks the town is too small and hates the fact that everyone knows each other. Katherine and Taylor are both seniors and can't wait for college. They were doing homework together when Katherine says, "So are you excited for FSU?", Taylor looks up slowly and responds humorously, "I'm not going to FSU". Taylor then explained that she can't wait to get out of this town and as far away from everyone as she could. Katherine felt as though her best friend betrayed her and couldn't even look at her. Kathrine explained, "I already know everyone here

LOTF Post

I chose a given passage on page 83-84 when the kids were talking about the beast. I think Piggy is right about fear of people. Many kids on the island target him or tease him so I can see where he is coming from with the fear of others on the island. Piggy can probably tell who he should fear the most. When piggy asked what the beast eats, and someone said pig, piggy responded with, "we eat pig". I think he is trying to get the point across that the ones who kill are the beasts.  I think when Piggy dies it has symbolism connected to the passage. Right before he dies, has the conch thinking that Jack's group will reason and not act as crazy. Piggy thinks that the beast is in the kids bad actions, and Piggy is trying to get the group calm down, so the beast comes out in Rodger, and kills him. This passage has a lot of meaning.

This weekend I ran in my last cross country meet of the season. The weather was absolutely terrible because it was very hot and there was no  gale  or cold weather. I was really nervous because I wanted to do really well for my last meet. A lot of my friends were there so it was hard for me to stay  earnest . When we were all at the starting line everyone was so  earnest . That is usually because it is scary to think that we are about to run three miles. When the gun goes off we all head for the trees trying to pass each other up wandering who we are ahead or behind. After a while the amount of people you run with thin out and there are only a couple who are running near you. When I crossed the finish line I was having trouble breathing and so a lady who was volunteering helped me walk to the water. I have to say that was the toughest meet because of the terrible weather. Earnest- serious Gale- strong wind

Lord of the Flies

The book is not very action packed right now so there is nothing that stands out a whole lot. I am curious as to where the kid with the brown mark on his face might have gone. I think he is still alive on the island trying to survive on his own. He might be hiding somewhere to scared to go anywhere because of the beast. I hope that he didn't die.  Another thing that I wonder is why does everyone not like Piggy? Is it is because he is fat? Is he not strong enough? Is it his personality? He just might seem like a really easy target. If I was Piggy I would be happy too when Jack left the group. Especially because that was the main thing he was afraid of.
