This weekend I ran in my last cross country meet of the season. The weather was absolutely terrible because it was very hot and there was no gale or cold weather. I was really nervous because I wanted to do really well for my last meet. A lot of my friends were there so it was hard for me to stay earnest.

When we were all at the starting line everyone was so earnest. That is usually because it is scary to think that we are about to run three miles. When the gun goes off we all head for the trees trying to pass each other up wandering who we are ahead or behind. After a while the amount of people you run with thin out and there are only a couple who are running near you. When I crossed the finish line I was having trouble breathing and so a lady who was volunteering helped me walk to the water. I have to say that was the toughest meet because of the terrible weather.

Earnest- serious

Gale- strong wind

  1. I really loved reading this post. It had a lot of great detail and really made me understand how you were feeling. I like how you incorporated the vocabulary words naturally, so it didn't feel forced.

F.B.I. Raids Office of Trump’s Longtime Lawyer Michael Cohen

F.B.I. Raids Office of Trump’s Longtime Lawyer Michael Cohen; Trump Calls It ‘Disgraceful’   by Matt Apuzzo. This article written  about Michael Cohen, who works for Donald Trump. He was raided Monday Morning. The F.B.I. had a warrant going to his house and office taking emails, documents, records and many other documents concerning Donald Trump. The author's opinion doesn't seem very opinionated , just factual. I would guess that the author is not in favor of Donald Trump since the writer works for the New York Times, but it's very hard to tell.  The raid definitely  means that there will be something to find connecting the affair of Trump and Stormy Daniels. What confuses me is why Trump calls it 'breaking in' if they had the right to raid because of a warrant. I think that Trump is trying to make it sound like the FBI are the ones who are in trouble. I chose this article because I heard about what happened this morning and I love the New York Times and how i...

Human Nature

Humans are full of flaws. Humans aren't ever perfect. They make mistakes like being late or forgetting something. No one could possibly be perfect. Some people say "I'm human" and it literally means that humans make mistakes. Over time I learned this through experiences of my own and others around me. At school especially people make mistakes. For example, forgetting to do homework, being late to class, not studying, and getting a bad grade. Those are only some examples of flaws. But instead of thinking about all of those flaws, I'd rather think about all the good people can do.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

I loved The Hate U Give a lot. It only took me about a week to finish because it was so fascinating. I have a theory about why Starr was wearing the hoodie the night Khalil was shot. An African American man was shot by a police officer wearing a black hoodie as well. His name was Trayvon Martin. He is very well known due to the protests of his death. People argue that Trayvon was killed because he looked ‘suspicious’. In the book kids at Starr’s school responded to his death by saying that he looked suspicious and so that is why he died.       My favorite character is Starr because I loved watching her develop and finally stand up to the shooter and everyone else who thought it was okay for Khalil to die. Starr’s friend Hailey argued with Starr about the shooting and said that he should have died. Starr ignored the comment at first but then she stood up to her and that was my favorite part of the book...
